We provided our client with 100% safe transport and storage of chemicals. Based on our extensive experience in hazardous goods logistics, we proposed a solution tailored to the needs of the chemical industry.
Challenge
Our challenge was to reduce costs while maintaining timeliness and guaranteeing security of supply. The client's specialised needs required the adaptation of infrastructure for the storage and handling of hazardous materials. The main task we faced was the organisation of temperature-controlled transport of hazardous materials (FTL and LTL), the confectioning of ADR goods and the efficient management of storage resources in terms of expiry date and batch number.
Solution
In collaboration with the client, we set up a new process from scratch to manage logistics resources. We carried out a full integration of the client's system with the warehouse management software (WMS), which allowed for stock control, direct transfer of orders, daily reporting of deliveries, and the development and standardisation of receipt, issue and confection procedures. The next step was to adapt the infrastructure to the client's requirements. We also took care to sign contracts with carriers for full truckload and groupage transport of dangerous goods.
Effect
The measures we took eliminated past communication errors and allowed us to implement our proven logistics solutions. As a result, we were able to fully optimise the process of transporting and storing hazardous materials, which brought tangible benefits to our client, i.e. improved communication with the operator or reduced time for confectioning.
